Celebrating Mother's Day in Hollywood

Whether it's a day at the spa or brunch, there are a variety of local ways to show your mom your appreciation.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and there is no better way to show your appreciation to the motherly figure in your life than to treat her to something special. From the $3 bunch of fresh-cut flowers to $250 spa package, Patch has scoured the city to bring you several suggestions in Hollywood.

With Hollywood restaurants offering a plethora of brunch specials, consider giving mom a break from the kitchen. Reservations are filling up fast so make your decisions wisely and swiftly. Here are a few of our suggestions:

Loteria Grill is offering a Mother’s Day Brunch in honor of Feliz Dia De La Madre. Selections include fresh juices, freshly baked sweet rolls, seasonal fruit plates, salads, and south-of-the-border inspired egg dishes. Mothers may also enjoy bottomless mimosas. Brunch will be served 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dishes range from $12-$19. Loteria is at 6627 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, 90028.

The Grill on Hollywood is serving a Mother’s Day brunch menu with favorites such as crab cake benedict, Texas french toast, and filet mignon and eggs. Brunch cocktails are available for $6.

BOHO Restaurant is celebrating its new location at Hollywood & Highland with a Mother’s Day brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The restaurant is at 6801 Hollywood Blvd. #411.

Magnolia is featuring a Mother’s Day inspired brunch menu. The restaurant is at 6266 1/2 Sunset Blvd.

Fabiolus Café will serve a Mother’s Day brunch buffet. The buffet is affordably priced at $9.99,  and $3 mimosas make a perfect complement. Fabiolous is at 6270 Sunset Blvd.

Larchmont Grill is open early for dinner at 4 p.m. in honor of Mother’s Day. In addition to the regular menu, a three course prix fixe menu is $34.95. Mothers will be treated to a free glass of Prosecco. The restaurant is at 5750 Melrose Ave.

The Foundry On Melrose is offering a three course Mother’s Day brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The meal is $39 and comes with a complimentary glass of Champagne and a rose for mothers. The restaurant is at 7465 Melrose Ave.

Off Vine’s  Mother’s Day brunch includes an entrée, and choice of ice tea, lemonade, coffee or orange juice and banana bread (entrees range $21-$25). Bottomless mimosas, Bloody Marys and Champagne are available for $15.99. The restaurant is at 6263 Leland Way.

The Egyptian Theatre is hosting a variety of Mother’s Day activities:

10:30 a.m. Take mom on a docent-led behind-the-scenes tour of the legendary 1922 theater. Tickets are $5. Meet at the box office. The tour takes about an hour.

11:40 a.m. Film showing of Forever Hollywood (55 minutes). Tickets are $5, following the tour.

2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Join theater staff in the courtyard for a variety of Mother’s Day kids activities, tea and sock puppet-making (bring your own socks and materials), interactive art activities and art installations. Free.

5 p.m. Burning Man Film Series: Burn on the Bayou (2008, 56 minute documentary directed by Matt Leonard). After the film is a discussion with Leonard and editor Zachary Cole. Tickets are $5.

7:30 p.m. 30th anniversary screening of Mommie Dearest (1981, Paramount Pictures, 129 minutes, drama/melodrama/biopic). Tickets are $5.

The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre presents the 8th Annual Mother’s Day Blues and Jazz Extravaganza featuring Barbara Morrison, the Bu Crew, J. Boykin Bennett, Lady Madam D and Joe Kincaid & The Soul Brothers.
