Bus Drivers Back on the Job

Monday brings an end to a strike that impacted routes in Hollywood.

Bus drivers for a city contractor were back on the job today, bringing to an end a strike that halted routes in downtown, Mid City, South Los Angeles and Hollywood for four days.

Veolia, a city Department of Transportation contractor, said an agreement was reached Sunday with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 572, whose membership voted to accept the terms of their labor contract.

Details of the deal were not immediately available.

A little more than half the routes were affected by the strike, and eight routes handled by another contractor were not affected, according to city DOT spokesman Clinton Quan.
