Bike with Tom LaBonge on July 17 in Hollywood

A series of six rides through Los Angeles will be led the the city councilman.

A series of six bicycle rides through Los Angeles led by Councilman Tom LaBonge will begin Wednesday with a ride starting at City Hall.

The rides, dubbed Tour LaBonge, will all begin Wednesdays at 6 p.m. with police providing traffic control. All riders must be at least 12 years old, wear helmets and sign waivers. Pets must be left at home.

"There's no greater place to enjoy the summer outdoors than in the city of Los Angeles," LaBonge said in a statement announcing the "tour" schedule. "Come see it with your own two wheels."

For the first ride, cyclists will meet at the Sister Cities sign at First and Main streets. Here is the schedule for the other rides:

June 12—Griffith Park (meet at the Mulholland Fountain at Riverside Drive and Los Feliz Boulevard);

June 19—Sherman Oaks (meet at Fire Station 88, 5101 Sepulveda Blvd.);

June 26—Fourth Street (meet at Shatto Park, 3191 Fourth St.);

July 10—Toluca Lake (meet at LaBonge's Valley Field Office, 10116 Riverside Drive);

July 17—Hollywood (meet at LaBonge's Hollywood Field Office, 6501 Fountain Ave.)
