Local Joshua Holmes Braves the Toughest Footrace in the World, Badwater
LOS ANGELES, CA- In a race that is known for it’s fierce terrain and temperatures that can vary 100 degrees throughout the 135 mile race, Joshua Holmes is one of only 100 chosen runners chosen to compete in what is known globally as the “world’s toughest footrace”. It begins on Monday, July 21st.
“When I learned five years ago that there were humans that ran beyond 26.2 miles I became intrigued. I signed up for a 40 mile race without having a clue and fell in love with pushing my limits. I heard of the Badwater 135 along the way, but I thought that it was beyond my stratosphere. However, I knew I wanted to do it one day. It took me about four years to get to this point, but I am excited, ready, and amped up to compete with 99 of the best athletes in the world at the 'World's Toughest' endurance race,” said Holmes.
Joshua Holmes is a Badwater competitor who has completed 69 marathons and 54 ultra marathons and is the founder of Run it Fast®, with members such as Dean Karnazes and Michelle Barton.
