Children's Hospital Los Angeles held it's second annual "Let's Conquer Kid's Cancer" head shaving event at Dillon's Irish Pub in Hollywood on Saturday.

The goal was to raise $20,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation's efforts in pediactric cancer research.

The 23 shaving volunteers included, doctors, patients and women whose children have cancer.

"I lost my son to cancer 2 1/2 years ago when he was 12," said Shannon Barry, amember of 46 Mommas. "I can't do research, but I want to be able to continue his fight and my way to do that is to raise money so the people that do have the ability, have the money to do so."

I'm such a big fan of yours, Cassandra! You write great articles about so many important social causes. I'm looking forward to reading your next article. By the way, I think you would be great as a television host with that smile and great voice of yours.

This was an absolutely wonderful video that you did. I have posted this on Facebook so my friends can see the great work you did on the video. I was not prepared for the awesome power of emotion that exuded the shavee’s and audience and the personal stories that were shared with us.
The most moving was a little boy with cancer who got up on stage and shaved a mother’s head, just brought us to tears.
I was proud to be a part of this and will do it every year now….just need to let the hair grow back a bit.

What a special group of people. It takes a lot of guts to do this. Their story would not have been told, if you hadn't done this. Good job. I am going to post it on FB.

I've read about this organization but the story really comes alive in a video format. Well produced, and nicely edited. So glad that they plan on doubling their fundraising goals from last year - hope they succeeded.

My boyfriend and I were in attendance. He was a "shavee" and we both had a great time. Glad to be a part of this wonderful cause!
I uploaded a few pictures from the event to my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vuthy/sets/72157626341127351/with/5605070111/
