Shots Fired at Hollywood In-N-Out

Police investigating the incident find a bullet penetrated the front door of the restaurant.

A shooting at a fast-food restaurant in Hollywood cleared the parking lot early Saturday, but police found no victims.

Gunfire at the In-N-Out at 7009 Sunset Blvd. rang out about 1:45 a.m., Los Angeles police Sgt. Steve Martin said, and at least two carloads of suspects fled, leaving behind only bullet casings.

The restaurant closes at 1:30 a.m., according to the In-N-Out website.

Martin said two groups clashed, with at least two men firing.

A bullet penetrated the front door, he said, adding that an anti-gang unit was in charge of the investigation.

No immediate arrests were made.

If the Police had a real "anti-gang" policy instead of an after the occurrence "unit" this would not have happened. The city seems to have enough money for every Hollywood CRA project, football stadium but none for the police. When will this corruption end? My family and I go to In and Out all the time but I will stop now knowing it's not safe. Maybe Superman that's up the block at the Chinese Theater could spend some time in the area. It would be just as effective. On the more positive side the constant drone of the Helicopters overhead makes for an impressive soundtrack for the Hollywood Experience when we have guests.

Resident90068, I find it very difficult to believe that LA doesn't have "a real anti-gang policy" and has no money for the police as stated in your comment. Can you back these claims up with some links? As for your statement that you and your family used to go to In and Out all the time and will now stop, that is an excellent point since diabetes and obesity are "a public health emergency in slow motion" and eating foods like Double-Doubles and Fries (especially if you eat there "all the time" as you state) will certainly contribute to poor health.

By not eating at In and Out anymore, you and your family can instead begin eating healthier foods which will reduce your risk of health problems. Next time try eating at Tender Greens or Veggie Grill where the food is healthy and doesn't contribute to disease. As to the constant drone of Helicopters aka "Ghetto Birds" overhead, you could educate your guests by telling them that it is due to LA having the largest municipal airborne law enforcement in the U.S.

So, although it may be a minor annoyance to you and your guests, it is actually the police doing their job from up in the air. Also, owning, maintaining and operating a fleet of Ghetto Birds is very expensive - a fact that stands in stark contrast to your claim that we have no money "for the police".
