Sale signs are still taking center stage in many of Hollywood’s most popular stores. The number of  ‘clearance’ signs are as plentiful as stars on the Walk of Fame. 

Shoppers are popping in Hollywood stores to find wool sweaters, guitars, jeans, shoes and even some Hello Kitty trinkets. I walked along some of the busier shopping areas, and wanted to share some of the sales I spotted.

I saw cargo pants, T-shirts and much more at Hollywood and Highland Center’s The Gap for an additional 40 percent off the already reduced prices. Consider a Gap v-neck sweater initially priced at $69 that’s been reduced to $39 and is now another 40 percent off. That means you can stroll out of the Gap with a wool sweater for a whopping $23.40. Another truly amazing deal can be found in the ladies’ section of the Gap’s tanks and t-shirts.

One woman this week was competing with her fellow shoppers to grab as many spaghetti strapped tanks as she could fit in her hands. Sure, she was a little pushy and determined. You can't blame her, since after the sale and additional discounts, the tank’s final price was only $6.

Next I saw faces of teenage boys as they stare at the new shiny guitars at the January clearance at The Guitar Center on Sunset Boulevard. Many of the guitars are propped up on display racks with their bright silver strings just waiting to be played.

Along with all the other tempting gear, many of the guitars are marked down to 50 percent off their original price. A few staff members at The Guitar Center said prices couldn’t get any lower and that they offered the best merchandise in town, through January.

And back at the Hollywood and Highland Center, you’ll find some irresistible deals on the trendiest platform black heels. Nine West is offering an additional 30 percent off already reduced heels among some other tempting styles. Indeed these boots would go well with some new jeans. 

Jeans on sale, you ask? Check. There are mountains of blue jeans on sale at American Eagle Outfitters nearby. 

The choices are endless, and include boot-legged jeans, skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans and more. And while you’re at it, why not pick up one of American Eagle Outfitter’s cute white v-neck sweaters?  This week it’s been marked down to $29.95.

Over in children’s paradise at the Hollywood and Highland Center, also known as Sanrio's Hello Kitty, there are still some darling Christmas stockings beaming with a smiling Hello Kitty (think next year’s Christmas), Hello Kitty purses and backpacks for under $20.

And for those of you who are on even more of a budget, not to fear.

Out on the sidewalk in front of the mall you’ll find a jewelry kiosk with sale items for $1.99. Throw in a complete earring and necklace set and the price goes up to $3.99. 

Then there’s the always coveted Louis Vuitton. Sales over at darling Louis this year?  Nope.  Seems the recession never hits them.  But, we can always dream.

This is Hollywood afterall.
