Hollywood Christmas Parade to Celebrate 80 Years

The parade hits the streets of Hollywood on Sunday.

This year’s Hollywood Christmas Parade on Sunday aims to be a star-studded affair as the parade marks its 80th year.

Actor Erik Estrada and travel host Laura McKenzie are this year’s hosts. Performer will serve as grand marshal, and other celebrities expected to take part include LaToya Jackson, Joan Van Ark, Montel Williams and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., the winner of NBC’s America’s Got Talent is also scheduled to perform, said parade spokesman Steve Moyer.

“It’s very, very high profile this year,” Moyer said. “So it’s going to be a big deal this year. It’s going to be a really incredible parade.”

In anticipation of the parade’s 2.5-mile route, streets in Hollywood will be shut down Oscar-style, so be prepared for gridlock.

In addition to camping out on the street, people will also be able to purchase tickets for the grandstand, which offers the best views of the red carpet, Moyer said. Ticket prices start at $35.
